It's time for your weekly dose of wisdom.
Here's 3 ideas from me, 2 quotes from others, and 1 question for you to mull over this week.
3 Ideas From Me:
I.
Stop fighting against your social media addiction. Start leveraging it.
Unfollow everything that wastes your time or sets you in states of avoidance or fear (news, politics, toxic friends, memes, etc)
Replace them with a dozen people, pages, groups, or channels that move you forward and set you in states of abundance and growth (business, motivation, new things you want to learn, etc).
Do this on your most used social first, then on the rest. Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, tiktok, etc.
Now, anytime you go on social media to waste some time, you will have no choice but to be learning, improving, and inspiring yourself.
II.
Your dream life will manifest ten years from the day you commit to taking consistent action toward it.
No matter where you are, or how bad your situation is, or what you've been through:
If you will take action even a few times a week, you can achieve what ever it is you dream in less than ten years.
Ten years is a long time for sure, but every day you procrastinate it, only adds a day to how long it will take.
Start now. You will thank yourself soon enough.
III.
You don't have bad habits, you have over used habits.
The problems of “negative behaviors” like social media, TV, alcohol, binge eating, video games, frivolous purchases, etc. are not a matter of kind but a matter of degree—it’s not that you’re doing them, it’s that you’re doing them too much.
And the more you do them, the more you want to do them, reducing your motivation for other activities.
The solution is to diversify: cultivate one or two dozen rewarding activities—with at least half of them “productive” rather than “consumptive”—and work to maintain a good balance amongst all.
If one behavior starts to become too dominant: increase the friction to doing it or temporarily cut it out, so that the others can pick up the slack.
